Carbs & Coffee 2024

We were delighted to hold our annual Carbs & Coffee event, following a strong turnout last year, where we were joined here by fellow car enthusiasts, owners and future F1 drivers in the making! It was great to see so many people and so many great cars!

The event was a wonderful opportunity to take a glance at some of the world’s most prestigious cars, to chat and hear stories from others, and to see what goes on behind the scenes here at ADP Classic Racing.

Something for everyone

  • A look around our workshop, containing lots of gorgeous cars - including an Aston Martin DB4, Mercedes Pagoda, Porsche 911 T, a Jaguar XK120 and more

  • We opened up our engine-build room and our fabrication area

  • Prizes were given to vehicle owners - Kid’s Choice Award, Staff Choice Award and Director’s Choice Award, see below

  • We were joined by a whole range of great cars brought on the day by our guests, from the yesteryear-ordinary, and now classic and much admired!, to the modern supercar

  • Great people and great chats

  • Coffee and delicious food

Restoration and Racing! Taking a look around the Workshop

We opened our workshop to let our visitors freely stroll around some of our current and completed projects.

This provided a small insight into both the high-end restoration projects we deliver and the event and racing support we provide at prestigious historic motoring events across the world. It was a great chance to chat too our specialist engineers.

1954 Aston Martin DB4 - this wonderful classic came to us as a minor restoration project to address paint blisters.  Further investigation by the team revealed excessive amounts of  body filler and issues with the bodywork. After agreement from our client, we took the car back to bare metal meticulously restoring the metal work - rectifying previous repairs correctly whilst getting the panel gaps and fitment just right, the remaining bodywork was attended to, carefully carrying out a premium repaint. The focus is now on the internal integrity of the car, rectifying wiring issues and interior refresh.

1968 Mercedes Pagoda - brought to us to restore the body, chrome and paintwork, the engine, other mechanical items and an interior refresh.

1971 Porsche 911 – this wonderful Porsche required an engine and gearbox rebuild, interior work and minor electrical rework.

A Community

We were really pleased to be joined by so many people and so many cars.

We saw wonderful machines, from the prestigious to the personal, from the humble family car to amazing models we rarely see. Lots of ‘normal’ cars from yesterday now reinvigorated. All were welcome.

It was great to see the warmth, enthusiasm and interest of so many.

Awards

Kid’s Choice Award – went to the much-loved Ford Sierra Cosworth rep

Staff Choice Award – went to a wonderful example of a 1970s BMW 2002 restomod

Director’s Choice Award – was awarded to the rare ERA Mini Turbo

The ERA Mini was a firm favourite amongst all. One of the rarest minis ever produced, with only 436 having sold and in a rare colour (only 157 were made).
