Williams F1 testing

We visit Donington Park for a pre-season test of a recently rebuilt Williams Wolf Formula One car. Built by Frank Williams Racing for the 1976 season and raced by Jacky Ickx and Arturo Mezario during the 1976 season, this car underwent a full rebuild at ADP, in preparation for the 2021 race season and the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique.

For the 1976 GP season, Walter Wolf and Frank Williams bought two Hesketh chassis from Hesketh Racing, along with the drawings for the 308C to compete in the 1976 season. This chassis was built new by Williams, using Hesketh drawings and campaigned in the 1976 Formula One Championship.

Jacky Ickx started the 1976 season and the car was campaigned in the latter part of the championship by Italian Arturo Mezario.

Team ADP are very much enjoying this new and exciting challenge, rebuilding the final car built by Frank Williams Racing in its original format. We are extremely lucky that the team of engineers at ADP have the expertise, passion and versatility to adapt from and touring and GT cars to this iconic Williams Wolf Formula One car.
